I have a couple of problems with my 2008 1.8 Diesel Eleganza.

Firstly, the remote CL. Sometimes the key-fob buttons work, sometimes they don't – it's the same with both the fobs I have. And sometimes they'll activate to unlock, but not lock the car – though rarely the other way around. I've tried replacing batteries and cleaning the relevant 'terminals' on the printed circuit board, but it makes no difference. This has been the case since I bought the car six months ago.

Now the heater. The fan is VERY weak, and simply won't demist the windscreen even on full power, full temp control and even when the engine is relatively warm. Indeed barely any air-flow seems to be coming from the vents at the base of the screen. When the engine is hot, the car interior will get nicely warm, but the screen still needs constant wiping for at least 15-25 miles – which, BTW, leaves a faint grey film whatever cloth or chamois I use.
(In comparison, my wife's 9 year-old 3-series BMW clears its windscreen almost immediately from cold, as does my 18 year-old Citroen XM!).

Finally, the rear wash-wipe. Sometimes the water comes through, sometimes it doesn't. The pump appears to function properly and the tank always has liquid in it. BTW, the blade, despite replacement, doesn't effectively sweep the screen – but that's another issue, possible a lazy/cheap design fault. :(

Any help on any of these issue most gratefully received.

Demisting:

Replace the pollen filter behind the glove box.
Bet it's clogged...

Thanks Piers, will give it a go (never realised there was such a thing... but hope it's accessible to a luddite like mio!).

Cheers – Mark

Thanks Piers, but I've tried a search for 'pollen filter' under Sedici and it just takes me back to my own posting! When you said earlier that it was "behind the glove box" did you mean below it, or does one somehow have to remove the entire glove box and if so, how? A quick dekko revealed little that was obvious.

And whilst I'm online, can anyone tell me if it's possible to get email alerts when someone respond to a thread posting (as on most forums) ? I can't find a button that does this! :(

Hi
Sorry to but in. Anyway to get at filter open glove box push the sides together (inwards) and glove box will drop down then unhook it then you will see a plastic cover pop that off and filter sides out. Very easy to do on a Sedici.
Regards Stephen.
