Hi All
So I went for the M.O.T. today and it failed on the front offside coil spring. Its seams that there's a bit missing of the top but the car drive's normal and does not sag on any corner so I was surprised at the result. Anyway can anyone tell me the best place to get a new spring how hard is it to change?
Kind regards Stephen.

Another coil failure!

Will try to help as we have just finished replacing ours today after finally getting the coils.:)

The cheapest we could find was on ebay.. £44.67+free delivery for a front pair made by supplex (claim to be made in Germany + supply audi etc).
I think this seller deals direct with the manufacturer as it took two weeks for delivery but is way cheaper than eurocarparts.
The SX4 petrol version is slightly cheaper + may be on shelf as more common?

To replace.. you need spring compressors, good socket set containing torq sockets, spanners, trolley jacks + lots of time as even the wipers/wiper arms have to come off!!

Have the garage given an estimate for the work? If so it may be safer/cheaper than d.i.y.?

Also... After removing we could see the rust on the underside and top of the springs so its good practice to replace both sides.

Hi all
So today I changed the coil spring took two and half hours. Was surprised to find 8 inchs missing. Been back for retest and passed. Anyway thanks for your imfo.
Regards Stephen.

How it was driving as normal goodness only knows

Yeah I know the bit missing was on the last coil (8in) so it still sat right and no creaking or anything. Will keep an eye on them now as they seem to be a weak area on sedici's
