Hi All
I have a Sedici 1.9 multijet with 79,300 miles on the clock. Yesterday the rubber pipe which comes of the inter-cooler and goes to the plastic pipe that gos up to the throttle body came off at the join on the plastic pipe as the metal clip had rusted away so I had to drive about 6 miles to work and back with it loose doing only 30-35 mph in built up areas. Anyway what I want to know is why it has blown oil up over the side of the engine out of the rubber pipe? I have since put it back on with a new clip and all seams well. The engine has not used any oil or coolant since its last service which was 4300 miles ago. Is it normal to blow oil out when a pipe comes off?
Your thoughts please.
Stephen.

There should not be oil in the air intake piping. This suggests that the turbo is leaking, so will not last much longer.

When cold, get the pipe off as close to the turbo as possible to confirm the origin of the oil.

May well need to start looking for a replacement turbo, sadly.

I have had this problem before on a previous car.
I just cleaned the intercooler and pipe work,,hoses etc out once a year
as part of the normal service.
I think as long as your not using a lot of oil and or loosing power i wouldn't be overly
worried about it,,if you google "Oil in intercooler" you will find a lot of discussion about it..
