new here, so hello to all Fiaters.

I have been looking for a small 4x4 and the Sedici is at the top of the shortlist at the moment.

I have had a test drive in an 06 diesel (30k but a bit sparse on the service history tbh) and seen another likely contender for sale. This second one is listed as an 08 1.9 m-jet with 65k but the dealer says it does not have the switch (2wd/4wd etc) on the centre console. I could only find a 2wd possibility in 1.6 petrol from early 08 and am not even sure if these were brought into the UK. Has anyone come across this or is it more likely that the seller (a well known large car supermarket) does not know what they are looking for??

I know there are quite a few variations around and some of the newer Sedici's don't have the 4x4 system. If it hasn't got a button then it's probably not got it. Another way to check is to ask them to look under it and see if it has a driveshaft to the rear axle.

I think all Sedici '06 and possibly '07 models are 4wd, but from then on was an option.

ollie the 4x2 only Sedici was launched in the UK in August 2008 as a cheaper alternative to the switchable 4x4 cars. As per CMM's post - the easiest way to tell post 08/08 is look next to the handbrake to find the 2WD / 4WD / Auto switch
