Am having a problem with my 56 Sedici where is it loosing power whilst I'm driving. It doesn't come to a complete stop, but slows down from 70 to around 40... anyone know of a similar problem?

turns out that it is an ERG valve problem that has just cost me over £300 to fix for parts and labour...

Ouch.....was that main dealer price?
I Had a similar issue on my 1.9 TDi Golf....... it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor.
A new one cured mine.

My local garage got the part from Arnold Clark Fiat so yes I guess it was the main dealer price.... this car is costing me a fortune.... think I might trade it in, in the summer

Wouldn't get too disheartned, EGR Valves, Coil Stacks and DPF's break with frightening regularity on pretty much every brand of motor out there.

The price for 'cleaner' modern motoring alas.

In general the Sedici/SX4 is actually pretty cheap to run...

Got an 07 Tiguan in this week, gonna cost thick end of £1.5k to sort!

Just checked and Shop4parts have EGR valves for the Sedici for around £161 delivered.

commonest reasons for loss of power on the otherwise brilliant 1.9JTD are the MAF sensor and the EGR valve; the MAF is easy to replace but expensive and you MUST get a good quality one; the EGR valve is not necessary in the UK tends to cause the inlet manifold to soot up and is best blocked off; you cannot just disconnect the electrics because it will produce a fault code and force the ECU into limp home mode; I blocked the one on my JTD marea with a stainless steel plate and got better performance and an extra couple of MPG; please see my other posts on this subject....
