Hi New to the forum, Hello everyone!

Had a sedici for a while now, ironed bugs with the aircon and 1&2 nd gear, all done by our friendly local dealer.

We're wanting to use my wife's iPod through the car stereo (believe the head unit is aPanasonic PACR04), after trying a few rubbish FM transmitter style units I've decided to opt for a hard wired approach.

Is anyone using an aftermarket adapter that they would recommend??

If not I've seen a connector by Connects2 which is listed as a Suzuki SX4 adapter but lists the head unit as PACR04 as well so suspect this will do the job... unless anyone knows better?

Any help or suggestions greatfully received.
Cheers:)

unable to help but let us know if it works..
the FM transmitters are indeed hopeless; converting the signal to FM and back again loses information and produces distortion
good luck

Right,

Well for all you Sediciites out there I've taken the plunge and spent my cash!

iPod adapter is on its way and I'll let you know how we get on.

Cheers
G :)

Part arrived today:Connects2 - CTASZIPOD001 (our stereo says PACR04 on the front by the way and we don't have a CD changer fitted).

and took about 10 minutes to instal!!:D

Contrary to the manufacturers instructions our iPod's have full functionallity and appear to be charging when in use too.

The car controls including the steering wheel buttons seem to work just fine. You can also use the CDC button on the stereo to scroll through the first few playlists if you don't want to use the iPod itself whilst driving.

This was really simple to do with no removal of any bits of the car trim or stereo.

1:Simply run your hand up behind the centre consoll from the passenger side (holding the radio end of the cable). The socket is on the bottom right (from the back of the stereo) and you can just feel around to find it then simply push to fit!

2: Plug the other end into the new silver box then plug the iPod cable into the silver box and hey presto you're ready to go.

The hardest bit has been finding somwhere to stash the silver interface box (it's about the size of a large cigarette packet). For the minute i've used some heavy duty double sided sticky pads and stuck it to the rear of the dash consoll (there's a flat section right at the bottom on the drivers side). So we'll see if that's substantial enough, if it rattles or drops i'll have to do a bit more fiddling.

You won't get any help from the manufacturer, they were rubbish and didn't respond to any of my emails (although they we're happy to take a phone call (at a pound a minute!!!) to tell me no they don't do anything for the Sedici.:bang:

So in summary the kit is:
1: Cheap (just over £54 delivered)
2: Really easy to install (anyone could do it)
3: Works Great

Will keep you posted if there are any issues.
Cheers G

Had a full day of using with two different iPods both worked perfectly with no issues (well except the bit where i'd partially disconnected one of the cables when fixing the interface box behind the dash!!).

The unit definately charges your iPod and you have full control as normal when playing the music.

By the way in my previous post i mentioned the manufacturer being rubbish, I was talking about Connects2 just in case there was any confusion.

Cool, I thought about this a while back but ended up going for a Griffin FM Transmitter.

Agree that most FM Transmitters are useless, (my previous belkin one had average signal and in the end the wires in the back of it frayed and it stopped working), but this one is working really well with great reception and it's set up nicely in the car, with the assistance of the cigarette pot thing and some heavy duty velcro!

Do you keep the ipod in the glovebox then?

We just have the cable exit by the cup hlders next to the gear lever and drop the iPod into any available cubby hole or cup holder.

Been running for a month or two now with no issues at all. Well worth the cash!
