My alarm on my 53 Stilo MW has the habit of going off when it doesnt need to. It mainly seems to happen if something noisy goes past the car like a Pug with big daft exhaust. I think it is something to do with the volumetric because if I disable that when I get out it does not happen, but whats the point of having an alarm if you have to turn it off everytime you get out. My dealer has checked it and they inform me they cannot find a fault.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yep its original fiat fitted, the dealer said it was on its lowest setting ?? Just got it back, no sirens yet but no rumbling exhausts have gone past.

This problem happens with the alarm on my Stilo as well, but mine has a habit of going off at stupid times like 5am. I have had to resort to locking the car by key and the alarm has been deactivated except when I lock it during the day it never happens. The number of times ive been woken at 4am or 5am to lock my car is ridiculous, I mean whats the point of having an alarm if you cant use it. Gaz, if you find out what the problem is, can you please let me know.

If and when no problem. I disable the inside alarm with the little button above your head and still get the perimeter alarm(the doors) have you got the option to do that ?

have you looked for any dirt/grime/dust gathering on the sensors? the Pug used to have a prob like this and that appeared to be the culprit
