Since Inherriting me MK1 Punto I can't get the standard fit alarm working?

I still have both Fob's which have new batteries, but they don't do anything when depressed.

I read on the thrad posted below that the alarm can forget the frequency of the fob, not sure if this is what might have happened here?

https://www.fiatforum.com/bravo-tec...rm-central-locking-fault.html?highlight=alarm

If this is the case can i reprogram the punto alarm to see the fob?

Already posted about this once with no response, so any help would be appreciated.

Try to download one off the net or look for one on the net.
Tried that mate.

Had a monkeys on the Fiat site, would of thought there would have been a pdf on there, but there aint, bit rubbish (n)

Think i'm gonna try find someone who's got a punto to find the hand book or try see a haynes manual.

That link provided sounds like they just give the procedure for recoding the blue keys of the red one rather than the alarm?

Grr:mad:

Right managed to get hold of a handbook from a Punto 75, but there isn't any info for recoding the fob's.

Give info about recoding the keys but not the alarm fobs.

Is the alarm in a different place in the 75 to the 55? I had a look for the alarm where it says in is in the 75 handbook in my 55 and is wasn't there?

Is there a different handbook for the 55 altogether?

Dunno? It states:

loosing the codes from the keys is very common caused by either pressing the lock/unlock button out of range of the car or changing the batteries.

This doesn't sound like recoding the keys from the red key. They have a seperate page for this service entirely.

Beware it does state:

In some cases the programming will need the key code found in the dealer pack .

So it'll be best to give them a call or an e-mail to check what the service actually is and what you require.

I'll scan in a copy of the Punto's handbook when i get back.

What model is you're Punto, as only the Sporting and GT models had alarms as standard. Is it an after fit, the button should be integrated into the key.

Proper confused now.

Right got intouch with that code man who seems to be thinking along the same lines of the above. He reckons aswell that only the more powerful sporty models have remote alarm and central locking? Seems to think this is an aftermarket jobbie?

The model I have is a 1.1 55 SX. I think the alarm is made by Scorpion? Is this not a standard fit Fiat Alarm.

Brilliant.

Whole new can of worms(n)

Anyone have a scorpion alarm with similar prob?

Quality.

Just had this response back from Scorpion.

" Press both buttons
for approx' 14 seconds or so till light stops flashing. Release buttons then
press left button twice. Fingers crossed!! Stand by car doing this".

Worked a treat.:D
