Window Security Code

Hi all,
Help me please.
Some *£$£(£*"%U****£"(* put a brick though the drivers door window of my lovely new Panda and didn't steal anything.
It's in Autoglass at the moment getting a new window in but they don't etch on the security code. They say the dealer does.
Called the dealer and they say the glass company do it. Called the glass company and they say the dealer definatly does it. Called the dealer and they told me to call Fiat.
Fiat says the dealer has to apply to the ISR (International Security Register) to get the code. Called the dealer and they said the glass company does it.

Shall I try a dealer that knows what they are doing?
Has anybody successfully had the security code etched back in a new window? Who did it? Was there a cost involved.
GMD are loosing brownie points with me as are AA Insurance.
If anyone could offer my any advice I would be most very very greatful.

I had a new rear window fitted, no secuity etching was done, and it was fitted at the dealership!

Go back to dealership, call fiat UK up from their service dept on speakerphone in front of the manager and ask the same question again. I think it's right though, dealership does have to contact the ISR.

Thanks for the replies.
I went back to the stealer and they have applied to the ISR for the code.
They will call me back. I still don't know if there is a cost involved in this. Fiat should be able to let me know shouldn't they? I'll give them a call because I'm not convinced the dealer has a clue.
