1 being easy - done in a day
5 being ok - takes a while but worth it it then end
10 being mega hard - dont even try it as you dont have the knowledge

and its on a cinq!!

cheers

surley for somthing as small as a lock hole, filler would hold it, fill it in, sand it down spray it ?

one of my friends de-locked his fiesta after a break-in, and glued a metal plate on behind where the door-lock barrel is. the metal plate kept on sinking and leaving a groove around where the door-lock should be. he got so fed up of repairing it all the time he got the plate welded on.

Yeah but if you take the lock out completley and put some wire mesh behinde the back, then fill it and smooth, they wont know its there if they cant see it ?

Should be OK providing the plate (inside the tailgate) that the filler is put on is welded and not stuck on.

Its a 'stard to weld on the Cinq, and part of the tailgate needs cutting away with a grinder to leave it flush...its not impossible by any means, but Id rather leave it to a pro.

i have heard of people knockin that bit with a rubber hammer to knock the bit of body work that the lock leave behind flat an then filling over that! (if that makes sence) and with fine mesh behind it that theoritically should b enough, shouldnt it?

i well fancy a smooth boot an wouldnt mind havin a go myself, anyone wanna spray a boot door on the cheap for me? :p

I did my 126 in about 3 hours (havent done the paint) bought a solenoid from maplins costing about £8 and welded the hole up.

I had removed my rear wiper so i used the switch on the dash to open it.

worked great.
