Am i right in thinking that i need to connect -ve trigger wires, white to lock.......


yellow
white/black
yellow/black
all join together and go to earth
but the white/black goes to unlock as well

Yea your correct except for the white/black. That should go just to the unlock trigger wire of the cars loom. Doesn't need to go to earth as well.

What car you putting it in?

Thanks for the help mate. 51 reg brava 1.6sx, do you know if there is a way of operating the central locking with the drivers door open, where is the interior light switch for the drivers door.
What i am trying to do is locate the correct wires for the lock and unlock on the central locking system (not blue and white), i have been told that if i try each cable with a bulb to earth, when i get the right cable it will lock or unlock the doors but the central locking won't work with a door open and i'm 6'4" so access is a little awkward with the doors closed
