Hi all,

I bought a car a week ago from a garage. A Fiat punto 1.2 Sporting 1998

With it i recieved one red key and a blue WITHOUT remote central locking in the fob which is standard for my car.

I need to know how/where i can find a new unprogramed fiat key with the remote locking on?

Or if i did finaly find a unprogramed central locking key, could i program it my self with the original Redmaster key.

Thank you in advance for any replys :)

You would have to get a new remote key from Fiat, and firstly 'code' it to start your car - you say you have the red key so this is something you could do yourself. Do you have a small sticker with a 4/5 digit number on it ? as iirc will need this to program the reciever to accept a new remote. If not you may have to get a new reciever.

It may be more worthwhile getting something like this http://www.abacusalarms.co.uk/alarms/meta/meta-m20.html

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have the same problem. my old remote key broke so ive found another from ebay. ive been trying to progtamme it with my red key. leaving it in the ignition till the code light goes out and then putting the new blue key in as quickley as possible. but this doesnt seem to work. the code light stays on permanatly.

whats an iirc? and were should the sticker with the code be stuck??

thanks for your help. :)

Hi, I recently bought a 2001 Fait Punto Sporting 1.2 16v, and with it came 2 Blue keys, one with Remote Central Locking and one without.

The key WITH Remote Central Locking is quite damaged, the Key itself works but the rubber button has come off and can only be used when you prod a pin through the little hole onto any remaining rubber button left.

I went to the Fiat Dealership and a salesman (trustworthy? lol) told me I could buy a new casing for the key for only £5 or so, but the parts guy said I'd have to pay £70 for a whole new key and an extra £30 for coding it and also said it's impossible to buy a new casing.

So basically I was wondering weather anyone had been in the same situation and what had they done, can you infact buy an empty blue key casing?

PS: I have no red key, I'm not supposed to am I seen as though it's 2001?

If I Remember Correctly = iirc :)
Ok first of all - this Ebay key, does it turn in the locks ? if so you need 1x red key, and 2x blue keys minimum to make it work

Red key - light out, 1st blue key - light out, 2nd blue key - light out, then red key - light out. Sequence finished.

The sticker was on the keyring from factory - most likely long gone now.

Can't buy casings no, no red key on your car either - need to buy another remote key from Fiat dealer as they are precut, and get them to code the key and programme remote.
