I have a 2005 1.9 Scudo. Recently, the charge light came on and the battery ran flat. My first thought was the alternator had failed, however after a couple of days of working just with an overnight charge, the light flicked out a couple of times, accompanied by a clicking sound from around the fuse box. Now it seems to do this intermittently, sometimes clicking on and off rapidly.

Is there anything I should look at before changing the alternator?
