My 09 2.0 scudo is having a wobble, so the air con hasnt worked for a year, so decided to try and fix it, seems harder than ever expected.

So its been re-gassed (so its holding the gas fine) , the compressor has been checked and the pressure switch has been checked, but still the air con compressor wont engage the clutch, no idea why, anyone got any ideas?

Its been a garage who are clueless, theyve said its electrical, today I've even replaced the BSI (Body fuse box) as a recommendation, but nope still no issue. Apparently when the air con is enabled the power delivery to the compressor is max 3v which is nowehere near enough, but what would cause that?

Then last night was driving it and *beep* on comes a fault its p0489 and p0490 anti pollution fault,
P0489 Control Circuit A Low voltage to EGR
P0490 Control Circuit A High voltage to EGR

Could these issues be related, anyone know what could be the cause.

Im starting to think ECU but im hoping not!

Egr fault is not going to be anything to do with the air con per se, but it may have been caused by the other work you did on the wiring.

I don’t have any sort of wiring look for the scudo, but essentially the power to the clutch either comes direct from the ecu, or via a relay, it could be the relay contacts has rusted, having not been used for a long time The relay would be in the engine bay fuse box, you could at least put a live to the air con clutch just for piece of mind for the time being to check the clutch will work and the aircon work.

In your position I’d start by trying to trace the wiring from the clutch back up to the engine bay fuse box or the engine ecu it’s self.

So 2 days ago my wife filled up and bingoeml goes off, car fixed .. how wrong i was!

Next day back on again, did a 120 mile round trip with eml car drove fine, however last night took it out and it feels like its gone into limp mode revs wont go above 3k, no.acceleration power, failt codes are:


P0238 Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit High

P0406 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High

P2143 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vent Control Circuit /Open

P0489 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) "A" Control Circuit Low

P1461 - Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor ACP Sensor High Voltage Detected


All seem to be electrical? Does anyone have any advice on what I could do, Im supposed to going on holiday with it on friday and wife is stressed to the max!!
