I have just gotten my motor tax renewal form. They are looking for €514 for 12 months. They are basing this on the 1.6 engine. Does anybody know why they are not using the emissions based rating which would only cost €280.
I can change it to commercial tax but I will have to get the van weighed.
I plan to call the motor tax office tomorrow to ask about it but thought I would check here first.

So because it is a van unless you declare that it will only be used for work purposes you must pay road tax based on engine size.
For the 1.6 engine that would be €520 for the year. I am going with the commercial option for €333.
