Thinking of buying 2002 Scudo JTD 16valve 5 door camper van 1-berth conversion. Trying to find out what UK 2017 road tax is, no idea of emission level of vehicle. Is it classed as a van or motor home? Heard that if there's not a fixed table then it's classed as a van, (even though it already has a bed, cooker, and sink). Have obtained favourable insurance quote but I classed it as a motor home, was I right? Am confused. Thank you
 
A friend of mine put a bed in with draws underneath, has a mini camping stove and hes insured his as a motorhome, he was told as long as u dont use it to carry tools in etc. Then no problem.

Check V5c logbook
For taxation class..

Or even google car tax..and put reg. Number in the dvla ved site..that will be the current taxation value

If it was once used as van and has been converted the registration class should have been changed. There are number of requirements, the most important is it must externally look like a motor home. It does have to have a dining area with a table, but it can be removable. Complete details are here:
