OK, I'm Cheating.

The actual vehicle is a 2008 PEUGEOT EXPERT 1000 1.6 HDi 90 H1 Van Diesel, but they are the same.

Well I'm a 52 plate 1.9 el Fiat Scudo owner and the time has come to replace it, it's spewing oil all over my drive

Anyway, I'm looking at the peugeot and hope to buy over the weekend.

My question is, is there any issues with this vehicle, especially being the 1.6 version?

I'm not a rally driver but it would be nice to cruise at around 80mph, considering my 52 plate screamed like mad at 65, but does the 1.6 also scream?

What's fuel economy like?

Any further info would be appreciated.

Cheers in advance

hi
my advice is to go for a well maintained 2.0. The 1.6 has had more than its fair share of engine problems. Whatever you get regular oil changes using a good quality oil will help to prolonge the life of the turbo.

Hi Thanks for the response.

Have you had a 1.6 version?

I've been doing further investigating and it appears that the Fiat is the weak link in the chain, where the Peugeot and Citroen don't have the same problem.

I thought they were the same van but apparently there is subtle differences, specifically to the engine.

I've placed the deposit and the van will be ready on Monday, this being Thursday.

The most common response I've had, however, is the same as yours i.e. service them regularly with oil changes and you'll minimise any issues.

hi
my van is a 08 2.0, now with 132k. Have you enquired if it has a particulate filter? Mine doesn't as I said I would always choose a 2.0 over a 1.6
