hi
I'm dealing with a problem I thought I had previously fixed. I've not really used the scudo much since I bought it last september, I'm looking at taking it to france next week so want to get it fettled. The problem is that it is leaking oil from high up on the n/s end of the engine. Last year I relaced the o ring oil seals behind the vacuum unit where it fits onto the end of the cam box. Now the oil leak is as bad as ever dropping down onto the bellhousing and down the back of the engine onto the exhaust/cat. I think it must be pressure in the cam box forcing the oil out passed the o rings. I tightenened the three retaining bolts up as tight as I could when I first replaced these o rings, just wondering if they were too tight. Anyway I'm going to try and take off and clean out the egr value, to see if that is causing a build up in pressure. The engine runs ok, no lights on, nothing really to note, its done 119k, I initially thought it was overfuelling a bit working hard going up a hill, don't think its really an issue, had a diesel expert look at it just after I bought it, he said his machine said all was ok, just he thought it didn't drive as quick as it should have. The engine starts ok and idles fine. Has anyone any ideas, any tips for taking off the egr valve. Does it take pressure out from the cam box? I could really do with some expert advice on this one, thanks
