hi,can anyone please tell me how to change the fuel filter 0n my 2003 2.0jtd scudo.many thanks

Unclip the 3 fuel pipes, unclip the wiring plug, unscrew lid, lift out old filter, put in new filter, screw lid back on, push fuel pipes back in, plug in wiring. Done. The lid is very tight and usualy best unscrewed using an oil filter wrench.

On my filter you don't have to unscrew anything?????

On mine all you do is Put rags around filter house (diesel is nasty stuff to certain plastics/rubbers)

Un clip top of fuel filter, lift off cap with everything attached. be careful not loose rubber gasket.

Remove old filter, put in new filter, make sure gasket is in grooves properly. Its clear where it goes. Push the clip back together, make sure it clamps both sealing faces all the way around.

Find the black rubber pump thing, it looks like a doctors pump on the blood pressure tester. Pump it until there is no bubbles coming out of bleed hose. Watch where the diesel is spilling to clean it up.(this is the diesel primer)

Give engine a few turns over, it may not start straight away due to disturbing the fuel system. But keep trying and it will go.

How do you unclip thes 3 fuel pipes? I am worried to force them the wrong way.

on the end part of the pipes you will see a different coloured plastic bit about 15mm from the end, it is u shaped with 2 legs going through and out the other side, turn the pipe and gently but firmly press the 2 ends of that clip inward and it will come out at the top. It only comes out about 8mm then the pipe just slides off.

The fuel filter can be changed with the pipes in place but with the electric connector removed

Be very careful to not twist the threads when doing up. I have just had to buy another housing after unknowingly damaging the lid

I’m really struggling to remove my cap (2.0 l) with the hex head comedy plastic cap. Socket cams off and flat adjustable twists the whole pot with the lid showing no sign of letting go. Am I missing something? A special tool maybe..?

I made a special tool using a 27mm socket and have tried repeatedly to add post and photos but won’t work. I must be breaking some rule or something. Contact me for details on how to budge the stubborn plastic cap on 2007+ Scudo fuel filter
