Hi, I own a 2008 with a 1.6 engine from new. This has been a great vehicle and it has done over 250K. The only problem I had with it until recently was a EGR valve blow out at 80K.
Recently I been experiencing lack of power going up hill, otherwise feels a bit slow but fine. I already replaced a damaged seal located between the turbo and air sensor.
I tried to run it with the air sensor unplugged, but it feels more or less the same.
I tried as well running it with a plastic tie holding the turbo starter valve in a open position and like that it runs like new.

But I removed it again coz its not suppose to be there.

I had the mechanics to have a look at it and they can't figure out what is wrong with it. The turbo is working, but not kicking in. The valve that activates it seams OK. There is no leeks on the pipes that connect to it, and this one is properly connected in both ends.
They think it might be a electrical fault somewhere.

Does anyone had this problem before?
Any ideas how to fix?

Many Thanks

Just had the vehicle back today, turned out the valve that kick starts the turbo was blocked and some of the turbo pipes also need some cleaning.
Only one sensor was giving irregular readings and that was the common rail sensor, so the engine either had to much fuel or not enough...
After a good cleaning is as good as new.
