Technical 52 scudo 1.9d white smoke & lack of power???

Morning all & hi as im new on here. Ive a Fiat Scudo 1.9d - 52-plate has come in to our workplace with white smoke pooring out the exhaust. Id looked under the bonnet to notice the top water hose that goes to the back had a split and had shown water loss all over the engine. The customer told me that he had been topping it up with water due to the loss and it had got worse and had loss of power and just smoked bigtime (white smoke) so id thought head gasket. stripped down head and ya could see the head gasket had gone so had the head tested and skimed, rebuilt the engine with new gaskets, bolts,water pump, cambelt etc and ran the van up to find the white smoke wasnt so bad as it was when it came in but still smoking bad and seams to have a misfire :bang:. rechecked timing and thats perfect. Ive been told it could be injectors but done a quick test by cracking the injectors to see it it was to miss and it does, done a spill off test and not much fuel gets returned!!!! done a quick test on the pump by removing the injector pipes and do like a spill off test at the pump and looks like maybe 1 is not pumping! going to bleed the system again just 2make sure b4 i say the pump. If any1 else has had the same problem where it smokes white smoke and was told lack of power plz let me no as ive had this van a week now pulling my hair out:worship:.

Check the hose connections to the EGR control valve (situated to the left of the water bottle and on the upper edge of the bodywork). Odds are you've accidently swapped the two small hoses over.

Found the Diesel pump to have been faulty, broken up inside and pumping at the wrong time, Cost of this to be repaired at parkinsons cost us £484.00 plus Vat. the van runs perfect and went out a few fews ago, customer happy to get the van back but not the cost.
So if injectors are ok, head gasket is ok the pump is no good.
