ive recently been looking at the van auctions for a 1.6 or 2.0 new shape scudo and found that an awful lot of the 1.6 engined vans have oil leaks visible all around the gearbox (right side looking from front) and the 2.0 engined vans have oil leaking from the left side often on the inter cooler and even covering the alternator, does anyone now the cause of these leaks as they seem a common problem?

The 2.0 version = the intercooler is knacked (common fault). Usualy turns out the turbo aswell. If the the van is less than 2 years old it is covered under warrenty. Dont know about the 1.6, hope somebody else can answer this?

i assume on the 2.0 the turbo is letting oil through into the intake and the intercooler also has to be damaged in order to leak the oil which would normally be burnt through the engine, if the turbo is done under warranty is it a revised part or just the same part which is likely to fail again?

My 1.6 leaks an absolute beaut. Everyone knows where I have been from the sheer amount of drippage.

Looks like ££££ as there's a fair few places they seem to originate from
