:worship:help, ive got a 2001 fiat scudo 1.9d...about a month ago the battery light started staying on, everything and everyone indicating new alternator required, then after pulling into a petrol station the van would not start at all, got my wife to bring jump leads, jump started it and made it home, once home turned off and tried to restart..nothing. next day removed the battery and put on charge, once charged put back on van and it started, didnt go too far in it as i assumed until i got new alternator it would soon go flat again.....after new year van would not start, battery flat, charged overnight and still wont start, turns over but will not fire, tried jumping to no avail, just does not want to know...........i desperately need advice, in laymans terms as what i know about mechanics could be witten on the back of a stamp........so to recap.....van turns over but will not start, not yet fitted new alternator.....please help, ive no work on yet and this van will be my lifeline

Sounds like the battery is dead (not holding it's charge).

Fit a new one!
