Hi fiatforum

Anyone know how to change the bulbs in the number plate lights of an 03 plate Fiat Scudo 1.9 diesel.

There are two holes in each light assy that suggest to me there are recessed screws but I can't pick the screw heads up. I've tried all sizes and types of screw driver :bang:.

advice anyone?

thanks in advance

No one know the answer to this one????

I just need to know if they're phillips screws or normal slotted screws?

I've tried shining a light up the holes but I can't see anything.

As I remember the light fitting just prises out and does not have any screws holding in place even though there are two holes present.

they slide 1/2 inch to the left then prise out, can be tight to slide

Thanks chaps

I waited til the weather warmed up and then had a go at changing the bulbs.

Anyway, whilst I was mucking about with the fitting the bulb came back on ( I had the lights on so I would know which bulb had failed ) so I guess it must have been a bad connection.

It flew the MOT last week ( which surprised me ) so now it's just a case of finding somewhere to get the cam belt changed and she's good to go!

BTW, anyone ever had probs on this type and age of vehicle with water coming in thru the windscreen seal?

It's usually the radio aeriel on the roof that leaks and the water chanels down the windscreen. If I remember correctly you can access the aeriel by dropping the interior light.

I remember my mechanic changing them, he inserted a small screwdriver between top plastic at side...then they slid to the left to come out.

I have tried all sorts and the buggers refuse to budge. Force needed to slide would be great enough to break plastic I fear or lugs holding them in.

Any further suggestions for this be much appreciated!

I really would appreciate some advice here before I get the hammer out on the number plate lights housing....again; I have tried all sorts and the buggers refuse to budge. Force needed to slide would be great enough to break plastic I fear or lugs holding them in. Sorry for repeat.

Get tight grip with your fingers of that plastic covering and They slide to the right about 2-3 centimeters, then pull right side of plastic cover same time sliding it to the right .. You should use a small flatheaded screwdriver to help pulling it out but look out for damaging the paint work behing the edge of that plastic cover. Hope that helps you.:)

Many thanks Hovill and Bigdong. I shall have to give it the biggun then when I am back out again...just needed to check later models have not been "lugged". I have 25 stone behind the grip so something s gonna give somewhere!:) You have both confirmed it slides to the right..not the left as stated previously...or perhaps it swings both ways??.right-ho...heave ho will keep you posted.(y)

There is a plastic holding "lever" on the RH inside of mount, small screwdriver in between edge and body to push this in while sliding all to the left...and PULL!(y)
