Hi
Have a recently purchased scudo lwb 120 multijet 07 with 62k km on clock.
Tyre dealer was unable to track wheels as rear wheels tracking out 4.2mm on pass side and 2mm driver side and bus was not in crash or damaged in any way.
Has anyone come across this problem before and have you any suggestions.
Bus is used as a wheel chair accessible taxi and is still under warranty till oct.

Thanks for help
Gerard

To the best of my knowledge the 07 (new) version of the scudo has a fixed rear axle the same as its older counterparts doesnt it?

This would mean that the rear wheels cannot be altered and are fixed permanent, usually cars (advanced ones) only have 4 wheel tracking as they have independant arms on all 4 wheels, most vans dont have this.

Do not get confused with the fact that the garages call the common laser tracking equipment '4 wheel laser tracking' this just means its capable of tracking a car with 4 seperate wheel adjustments as well as cars with only 2 i.e front wheels only, which should apply to your van.

I would have thought that all you would need is your front wheels tracked to the parrallel lines of the wheels on the rear axle, standard adjustments and very common.

If what your garage is saying is that your rear wheels are pointing in different directions and are not parrallel, then this would cause the problems you are suggesting. It could be a worn bush, cracked spring or something damaged by the rear wheel mounting a kurb to hard.

See the link I have added below Diagram 3 applies to tracking a vehicle with a fixed rear axle, diagram 2 shows a vehicle with 4 wheel adjustments. This may help.

Hi Welshspark,
Thanks for info.I will consider all you said and discuss with my own mechanic and have all the information before going back to main dealer. If it is a warranty issue and rear axel was incorrectly fitted then Fiat will have to cover that.
Regards
Gerard
