:rolleyes:hi all,,,
just a quick bit of info needed,,
am thinking about changing injectors on 2.0 jtd scudo 2000 model 8 valve 110hp ....have found a set of hdi injectors from above,, can any one tell me ,,
is it just a one out, one in change or are these injectors coded to the ecu making this i fiat garage job,,, advice needed,,,

Jtd injectors are individualy graded for flow rate. There's a number (1 or 2 or 3) in a circle etched on the top of each injector. If you replace an injector with one of the same grade then the engine management ECU doesn't need updating.

If you replace one or more with different grade injectors, the ECU needs to be told the new grade for each injector. As far as I know, this can only be done with the Fiat Examiner. There's a theory that the differences in the grades are so small and have such a small effect on performance and ecomony that it's not essential to update the ECU.

Dave.

cheers dave,,,
will have a go with change and see method,,,can only improve performance at mo,,, all fuel seems to be black smoking out the back at the moment... any chance you know if i can unplug each injector in turn and still run on three just to find the noisy one,,,
