Hello all.

Just a quick question from a diesel newbie, does an 04 plate 1.9d (non turbo) Scudo have an EGR VALVE and a MAF sensor. If so, could somebody please tell me where they are they located as after reading threads on this excellent forum I think one or more may need changing. Ive done 40000,had a new air mass meter fitted by dealer recently after it failed, but still have mild 'tugginess' when you initially touch the accelerator when driving at normal tempreture but 'tugginess' is more severe when pulling off from cold in morning. And I dont think my MPG is what it could be,she seems more thirsty of late. No black smoke from exhaust though.
Could I be right?
Also seems from the forum that the EGR only lasts 3 years or so anyway.
Thanks in advance for all help received.(y)

Hi
When engine is cold hold egr valve pipe if it is warm there is a fault.
As for the tug when cold is it more of a judder when pulling away or stalling when on tickover.:D

Thanks Fubar.

But Im not exactly sure where my pipe is on 1.9d. Ive read the jtd's is on back right side of engine is mine the same??

To answer your other question, I have no stalling problem at tickover or any other time. The 'tugging' is not directly on pulling off from cold, it happens when Ive driven down the road 100yards or so and only for a second or two as Im accelerating up through the gears.
Could it just be that the engines cold?
Once the engines warmed up slightly, say over 1/2 a mile or so it doesnt do it anymore. All I get then once at normal tempreture is a very mild 'tug' when I initially press down on the accelerator to speed up, once your accelerating its fine, its just that first dab on the pedal that it does it.

Any Ideas??

In one of the replies here you mention juddering when pulling away.

I get a feint judder (2ltr JTD)when accelerating on full power in forth or fifth gear, and it seem a little down on power.
Could this be pointing to my egr?
