hi im a newbie to the forum,my 97 1.9td has blown its turbo,is it possible to convert to a normally aspirated without any running problems

I think you will find that the turbo charged engine has a different compression rate to the non turbo, therefore if you try to run the turbo motor without a turbo it will run, but would be a very poor engine, with very poor performance.

yeh dont do it, eventually the engine will go, its simply not getting enough air into the engine without the turbo. At work ive got the citreon version and the turbo on that went, and without it its the slowest vehicle ever. getting to 70 takes 4 days and when going up hills it slows to 60, just get it repaired bud, youll be very pleased in the t long run.

I have a 2.00 JTD and the Turbo seems to cut out when it feels like it. Normally up hill going into 5th Gear. Any Ideas?
