Hi there guys, went through a puddle tonight, very big puddle trying to soak a woman stood on her drive. Hit this thing pretty well but heard a really loud scraping noise till i got home. Looked underneath and found what looks like a small radiator and a plastic outlet hanging off, anyone got any ideas what it is?

Cheers for quick reply, my gaffer has told me to cable tie it off the floors till it goes into the garage tomorow, will this being detatched do any harm?

Hard to say without looking mate but i wouldnt advise driving too far!

Cant remember how much they are now but i have sold a couple before after people driving through floods!

Hope i am right :)

Its a works van anyway, ill tie it up once the rain stops then drop it down the garage. Cheers for that mate.

Turns out it was a fuel cooler, i get it back tomorow after the garage have replaced it.

bet shes laughing at you now;)

or even reporting you :

Driving without reasonable consideration - Section 3 RTA 1988 : If a person drives a motor vehicle on a road without due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road, he is guilty of an offence.

from the cps website :

Examples of conduct appropriate for a charge of driving without reasonable consideration are:

* flashing of lights to force other drivers in front to give way;
* misuse of any lane to avoid queuing or gain some other advantage over other drivers;
* unnecessarily remaining in an overtaking lane;
* unnecessarily slow driving or braking without good cause;
* driving with un-dipped headlights which dazzle oncoming drivers;
* driving through a puddle causing pedestrians to be splashed;
* driving a bus in such a way as to scare the passengers.

here's hoping......

but i'm sure you can afford the 3-9 points if she does....

I cant afford the points actually, already got 6 from last november. I dont think i got her anyway, was worth a try though hehehe.

God's punishment for you trying to soak the poor defenseless woman :mad:

We do more miles than most and the worst drivers are car drivers and taxi drivers, at least us van drivers know how to reverse without taking half of the car park.

i beg to differ, my dad runs a fleet of vans, every single piece of damage is from reversing :)

least us van drivers .

I drive with courtesy and respect for other people. Not many vans on the forum, but as a driver of one of them, I would not want to be associated with you.

Best if you just refer to yourself, given your initial post on this thread was about trying to soak a woman on the pavement.

So your telling me you have never done it? Id find that very hard to believe. And yes i think van drivers are better drivers than most, all of our guys are excellent drivers, fair enough some of the vans have got scrapes and dents but what do expect when you cant see out the back of the vehicle. And you all asume that damage is the cause of the driver when thats not always the case, my van is parked on a building site and ive had more damage occur from other things hitting it than from on the road or otherwise. In one case a dumper truck ran into my last van.
And for your information im a very careful driver, the only accident i had was when a woman stopped dead in front of me for a bus that wasnt even there, and even then i only clipped her back bumper, no damage.
