Just in case anyone needs to know...

Just got a 2012 Fiat 500 Twinair, and it comes with the dashboard socket (type 68R). I had a spare Tomtom GO Live 1005 available, but no cradle to test whether it would fit, even the pin connector looks the same as the Blue&Me Tomtom 2 (which it appears is more or less a GO Live 1000 rebranded). Neither did I know if the socket itself works, and didn't fancy dismantling the dash to find out!

So I bought a secondhand cradle on ebay, thinking that if it didn't fit I could resell it. The Tomtom 1005 does fit, although it is a bit of a squeeze to get it in or out. Plugged it in, and it powers up and down based on the ignition key position. Result! :)

I expect it won't respond to the steering wheel buttons, but my main concern was to install the 1005 without a screen mount and additional wiring.
