Hi,

Can anyone tell me the part number of the cradle that connects the tomtom Satnav with the "54k dash port"

Could be 71805795 or 71805796. (ePER only says "KIT" on both)

With this part it should be possible to use most/all normal tomtom satnavs (not only the expensive FIAT one for Punto Evo) in my 500, of corse without the special Fiat features wich dont work in the 500 (yet?) anyway.

This document
http://www.fiat.co.uk/WorkArea/downloadasset.aspx?id=21907
says it ist 71805795 but a 2nd source says it is 71805796

71805796 ist the basic tomtom Suction Active Dock Mount Kit.

Anyone has Information about 71805795 ?
(price, availible or not)

Hi

I've just joined the forums (as I have placed an order for a new 500!!) and I have also been looking into the 'expensive' Tomtom.

I have discovered that there's an OS update that can be applied to a retail Tomtom to add the Blue&Me functionality but I've been struggling to find any where that will sell me the cradle.

Part number 71805795 is the cradle. Have a look at the Punto EVO datasheet:
wwwfiatcouk/WorkArea/downloadasset.aspx?id=21907
(add dots into the start of the address becauce I cannot post URL's until I have at least 5 posts??!)

But can anyone confirm where I can get this and what model Tomtom fits?

Cheers
Steve

Well, the Blue&Me functionality as far as im aware is wireless, so as long as the device your using has bluetooth, assuming you can flash it with the correct B&M firmware etc it'll work..... but you'd still have the usual wire to charge it.

But the spanner in the works is with the the Blue&Me TomTom cradle, Blue&Me TomTom uses a different type of port to plug in (its not micro-usb like every other tomtom ive used.) its something else, so the cradle is equiped with this "something else" connector rather than a micro usb.

Unless ofc TomTom have redesigned there interface port on all tomtom's recently.

Also, im pretty sure with the 500, the B&M Functionality currently doesnt work with the TomTom unit unless somethings changed in the past couple of weeks?

The Fiat Tomtom is not working with the 500 Blue&Me !
(it works only in new Fiats like the Punto EVO and new Doblo).
The port in the dashboard is the same and the Tomtom gets power but it will not connect with the 500 and so all the Fiat specific features of the "Fiat Tomtom" are not working in the 500 (control with steering wheel buttons, show nearest petrol station when fuel is low....)

Months ago there were rumours that there will be an update for the 500 blue&me, but so far nothing happened.
My personal guess is that with the next MY or facelift the Tomtom will work in new 500's but there will never be an update that makes it work in older 500's.
And if iam wrong i still can put the Fiat OS on my tomtom if i really need this features.

So at the moment it makes no sense to install the Fiat Tomtom OS on a normal Tomtom (or buy the Fiat Tomtom far a 500, because it costs more and you can not use it in other cars if you not buy an suction cradle)

Fiat tomtom =~350€+80€ for the suction cradle with TMC
Tomtom Go750T =210€+40€ for the fiat cradle (if it is number 71805795, if it is availible, if it really costs only 40€ and if it works)
180€ less for the same features !

And its not only the money, what pisses me of is that no one at fiat can tell if the fiat tomtom will work in the 500 or not and when.
Also my dealer could not tell me if 71805795 or 71805796 is the fiat cradle,
a mail from Fiat said it is 96 (and 95 is something else), after 6 weeks waiting for the part i know it is not the 96 because this is the suction kit (came in original tomtom box, i have no clue why fiat sells this and why it took 6weeks to deliver, if you buy it at tomtom.com you have it in 2days).
For this reason alone i would not by the Fiat Tomtom.

The Fiat Tomtom is the same Hardware with same connectors as my GO 750T (i saw good pictures of it and the cradle).
Most GO's are the same (650,750,950, LIVE and Traffic) only the 730 Traffic seems different.

So if you could get the Cradle from Fiat you can use any of these in the 500.
Without the "Bonus Fiat Tomtom features" but nice mounted without cables. (about TMC iamnot sure)

Has anyone in the UK managed to order one of these parts (the 5 not the 6)? My local dealer is saying it is unavailable ....

Just to confuse things further the box my mount is in (came with a Blue&Me TomTom Europe 45) is numbered 0071805796.

Now I am confused.

Looking at
http-www-fiat-co-uk/WorkArea/downl....aspx?id=2190 (page 22)
it appears that 71805796 is a suction kit, while 71805795 is a cradle which fits in the 54k hole. This is confirmed above in this thread (by you??!!).

Are you saying that you ordered the "5"; but it came in a box marked "6", or that you have a "6" and it is not a suction mount??

My dealer offered to order a "6" but I said I didn't want a suction mount.

It was from ebay! I couldn't justify the price of the Blue&me Tomtom but I managed to pick one up on ebay for £82. It is all in the original packing.

Well done, you!

I think I might get the dealer to order a "6" and see what turns up.

In case anyone is Googling this in the future - I got hold of 71805795 (number was on the box) and it fits beautifully into the 54k hole in the dashboard of my 500, and my Tomtom Go750 works a treat. No integration with Blue&me (at the time of writing at least), but that is not what I was really after.

Pian, as you have discovered the BLUE&ME TomTom is based on the 750/950 and will directly fit the cradle you mention. As you say, none of the BLUE&ME functions work but it is just great not to have to worry about untidy windcreen mounts and power cables any more.

Great for anyone who has the dashboard port already fitted on their car. (y)

Grimwau,

Have you had the dashboard port fitted to your 500a? If so how did you get it done? I'm currently looking at a new Sat Nav for my 500a but having the port fitted would mean no clutter!!

Thanks for any info.

Hi Paul, I don't have the dash port on the A500 the picture of the TomTom is in my old TwinAir Sport and it has to be factory ordered/fitted as it is not possible to fit aftermarket.

To be honest I have never seen one fitted to a RHD A500 as where the port would normally be is where the turbo boost gauge is installed.

I would love to know if anyone has ever seen one on an A500.

Manufacturer Code: 71805863 see link below

www.fiat-accessories.com/Fiat-Blue-Me-Dash-Mounting-Bracket

+ GO 550/ 750 LIVE Refurbished £129.99 / £149.99 ( direct from Tom Tom ) would seem a good deal to me if a previous post is right about the tom tom model number
