tom tom v2 stuff was very poor, i think i only sold one in over a year (awkward customer, whos laughing now :devil but the new v3 stuff is really impressive, i like them a lot, lot more functional than garmins and map editings is a big advantage

garmin kinda speaks for itself though, they just produce good quality sat navs without all the dopey extra features, but in terms of price comparison, tom tom is hard to beat at the minute

Bought the Garmin 200w other evening..will put it to the test this weekend on holiday.

Garmin nuvi 200 wide screen one is £140 thats a bargin. Battery life is around 5 hours and tomtoms is 2 hours.

TomToms new v3 range is better and they aRE improving

yea the widescreen nuvis are a great range, though 5 hour battery life is massive, generaly they last 3 r 4 hours so well done!
register with garmin and see if theres any updates, always a good idea as it hasnt been updated since it was built which is likely to be quite a while ago, also make sure youve the 2008 maps, if not you will get it for free
go 2 settings > system > map > about and it should say there
