Hi All

I have a couple of 4-2-1 exhaust manifolds which I think are from Ritmo Abarths. I am looking to see if I can reuse one in my Lancia Beta, but I would like to know if anyone knows the engine angle the Ritmo has as I suspect it is different to the 20 degrees of the Beta engine?

Thanks

Peter

The 30 degrees was measure from images/diagrams in the workshop manual.

If you have two of these exhaust manifold then you can measure the flange angle yourself.

As small variation in angles could be accommodated by a flex connector however WHAT WILL BE CRITICAL is the flange height relative to the "one" pipe.

Many moons ago I purchased a supposedly uprated 4 branch exhaust pipe manifold to replace the stock 130TC and ran into major problems. Once I got the manifold past the horizontal drive shaft I then found that the flange would not nate with the head because the outlet "one" pipe was hard up against the floor pan.

Removal (on a lift) required a hacksaw and chain wrench to cut and bend one of the pipes off angle to allow the manifold to be removed. Was a tight wriggle and wobble to get past the drive shaft in the first place but no amount of the same (I tried for an hour) would allow it to pass back out again.

Supplier was really *issed off because I had cut and bent his 4 branch manifold but had to admit the design was wrong.

Hi

Thanks for the info, 30 degrees is about what I had measured. This was rough measurement so wanted to confirm it. This now raises another question as I had thought the 130TC head was very similar to the ‘normal’ Beta heads especially the VX one which had the larger valves. The exhaust to manifold is inline with the engine not at an angle.

I realised it may not be simple to adapt the down pipe, but am keen to see how far I can get with it as it is essentially as new and buying a new Beta one is not an inexpensive solution...
