Fiat Ritmo/New Member/Help

Hi, I really don't know where to put this thread so I'm just going to put i here.

Anyway, my name is Tjörvi I live in Iceland. I own a Fiat Ritmo 85, 1987 model

Now the problem is I'm having trouble finding spare parts for it back here in Iceland so I was wondering if you could tell me where I should look.

Should I just contact Fiat Italy and see if they have the parts in stock or is there any online partsale that specializes in fiat parts.

btw which email do i contact Fiat for parts?

Thanks alot! Best regards

Re: Fiat Ritmo/New Member/Help

Welcome

I have on my website the official parts slides for the Ritmo/Strada 105TC-125TC-130TCs. See http://nick-bailey.co.uk/ritmo_parts_intro.html

Now whilst you have an 85S some of the parts are common, and even if they are not you will get an overall idea of the general car structure etc.

If you can find from the above slides a part and part number that is similar or a match for what you are looking for the I can tell you if that part is still available/orderable from Fiat.

Go here http://www.fiat.com/com/choose-your-market

Iceland is not listed but at least some of you nearest neighbours are.

I don't believe you can buy parts directly from Fiat. You will have to approach a Fiat dealer/parts outlet in another country.

Do not forget that for many common engine, suspension and service parts then your local motor factors will be able to source OEM parts for you.

Waht spare parts are you lokking for?

Re: Fiat Ritmo/New Member/Help

Hello, amd welcome to FF,
this is aUK based Firm.. and we don't get the "ritmo" in the UK..,

My guess would be it is a similar PAS unit to the Punto / Grande - Punto..,
(Don't know the year of your car..)

look on ePER ( homepage Banner),
to try and cross reference the part No.'s

out of interest.., how have you diagnosed the fault..?
as Electric power steering is fairly complex, and uses lots of electrical power, and has various sensors in it.. all of these can prove problematic,

there should be a stored Fault code hinting at where the problem lies,

Charlie
