Hello, I have a Y reg Strada 105 TC for sale. The car was bought by a friend of mine back in 1997 when we were both students in the UK.I think the car back then had around 20k on the clock and belonged to an old lady. My friend brought the car back with him in Greece when he finished his studies in July 1998. Since then (or a year or so later) the car was parked (covered) in a dry basement. During that year the car received a paintjob to its original colour just before its storage for 13 years. The car was getting started every 3-4 months for all these years. The last odometer reading (which is what it shows now) is 32978 miles. The mileage is original I bought the car from him since he did not want it anymore and I am planning to drive it back to the UK to sell it if there is enough interest. Its V5 is available. In order to be able to travel through Europe, I have made all the necessary repairs and servicing which are:
Timing belt and roller and v shaped belt
Cylinder head gasket (it also underwent cylinder head repairs such as cleaning, new oil seals for the camshafts, new valve oil seals and vlave adjustments)
Water pump and flexible pipes. The two metal pipes were cleaned and examined for rust and only the top one needed some welding.
Coolant reservoir and tap
Thermostat
Oil breather pipes
The radiator was stripped, cleaned and repaired
Obviously the spark plugs were changed along with oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and gearbox oil
A full gasket set was bought and any gasket that needed to be changed is now changed.
Flexible fuel lines
All 4 brake pipes were changed along with front pads.Rear drums were cleaned and checked.
Front wishbones changed since their bushes were gone (old wishbones will travel back to the UK in the boot) and also the track rods bushes were changed.
Rear wishbones bushes (all 8) were changed, too.
4 new Vredestein Si 185/60 14 on its original wheels which were refurbished and repainted (all 5) and a used spare fitted.
The carburator was cleaned, adjusted and all gaskets and pumps changed.
Exhaust hangers were all changed

The body of the car is almost immaculate apart from a tiny rust spot on the drivers side sill just behind the front wing connection which will be repaired before departure since I want to make sure to pass the MOT as soon as I arrive. Also, it seems that rear wheel arches were changed when the car was repainted in 1999.

The interior (seats, carpets, door panels, dashboard and headlining) is as new.

The only two parts that are missing from the car are:
One center hubcap (lost somewhere in Italy back in 1998)
The left cover of the passenger seat at the reclining point.
I will try to find at least the seat part.

If somebody is interested please email me at [email protected].

I will try to send photographs of the car ASAP, which were taken just before the repairs were started (Actually from the exterior nothing was repaired apart from the wheels and the front fog lights which are currently restored)

Here is a photo of the car

Thanks Peter Pick-Up. I hope there is interest in it in order to drive it back to the UK.

Well, you see, before I start the trip, I want to make sure I can sell it at a good price,It doesn't matter me if I stay in the UK for a while. As for the car, now its ready to travel. It didn't have any problems before, but I wanted to make the trip safely, thats why I made all these repairs

Thanks cheekylittlescamp it sure is in a very good condition.
Glad to see you owned all these Fiats. While I was studying in the UK I had a number of Fiats, a Breg Uno 1.3 which I had bought for a 160 pounds back in 1996 and brought me back to Greece( you could see through it from the rust), a C reg Uno Carte Blanche and when I returned to Greece a number of Mk2s Pandas a 1994 Uno 1.0 and some Cinquecentos.Currently I also drive a converted Cinquecento cabrio, they used to chop their roofs in Greece as rented cars...

that is surreal. I come on the forum and make my first post since 2007 and start it by referring to my old 105 TC (some 23 years ago when i was 17) next thing I stumble across this beauty! That Veglia instrumentation looks even better than I remember it. The earlier 105TC has so much more character than the Mk2 and the revs that engine will pull are amazing.

OK so I cannot afford it at present, but just because I want it so badly, how much are you looking for?

Ok CoopVt, since you want it so bad you better come and have a look at it when I arrive in the UK, hopefully it will be some time in November.
It is in excellent condition as you can see and I dont think you will need to do anything to it.I would like to sell it for around 5.000 GBP. I know it sounds a lot, but it deserves it.
Thanks again for your interest and your enthusiasm.

What a beautiful car! i've always wanted one of these since my brothers friend had one back in the day (my brother had a mk1 uno turbo ie) but sadly i don't have £5000 at the moment. let's see if my numbers come up by the time you get it here in November :D Good luck driving it over, will be a fun trip!

Cheers JamieK. I appreciate your "good luck" wish. I hope I will have fun during the trip.
Thanks again

Hello Howard,
Sorry for being so late responding to your mail, but I have been trying to send you a video of the car for the last month, but probably due to its size it cannot be sent.
The car is still in Greece and it has not covered more than 5 miles all this time, although I am starting it once a week always.
I will try to send you the video again-compressed.
The plans have not changed, I still want to bring the car back

Kind regards
Yiannis

Sadly 5,000 would be unrealistic. The Strada/Ritmo in the UK is considered an unreliable rust trap and you would be very very lucky to get much money for it at all. TC club members obviously rate them, but still 5,000 is over the odds.

Well LemonBear, this one has been saved since it has avoided the English weather for the last 14 years. And I still have not found any hidden places with rust, apart from the left sill that has a very small rust spot.Anyway, we'll see whenever I make the trip about the price that I can get

Well this thread has certainly bought the memories flooding back! :)

I had a red one just like that from new. Fabulous car, especially the engine, which in those days for a 1600 used to go really well, unlike those nowadays weighed down with all the emissions stuff which really knocks the edge off performance.

They also did a 125 TC (actually had one overtake me when touring in France) which unfortunately they couldn't/wouldn't do in RHD because if I remember correctly difficulties with the steering column or rack?

Of course they did a 130 TC Mk. 2 but as said they weren't as good looking as the Mk. 1's and I therefore never fancied one.

I'll see if I can find some photos of mine, scan them and post up.

s130 - just personal preference really. As you say front grille and alloys, but they did make a big difference to how the car looked. The Mk. 1 had a unique look to it and when I saw a 105 TC in the show room I thought wow and just had to have one! I just never felt the same about the Mk. 2 (the Mk. 1 seemed to me to have been designed in the whole and everything just seemed to sit right with each other whereas with the Mk. 2 the grille just seemed like a half-baked attempt at an upgrade, though it did seem to work better with the less sporty models) and went for a Regatta (was it the 100 with the 1600 engine?) which was a nice car but obviously not as sporty as the Strada.

My wife had a Strada as well, Mk. 1 again but the 1300. My brother had a Mk. 2, he worked for a Fiat dealer at the time, and that was a nice car to drive.
