:worship:Hi guys just bought a 1982 mk1 fiat strada 105tc which needs doing up,and it has no ignition coil or module and im stuggling to find a coil for it does anyone know if theres another coil i can us instead of. would it be possible for someone with a mk1 take a couple of pictures of there coil please so i can see which wires go were aswell please,is there anyone out there that can help me please.thanks mark:worship:

Ignition module (Digiplex) is P/N: 7542156

A Google for - 7542156 fiat - gets some hits.

The Digiplex units are quite rare now.

Thanks for the info, but i thought only the mk2 had the digiplex unit fitted.

You could be right.

You mentioned ignition module and I read digiplex unit.

I guess you need to tell us if your have:

Points in the distributor and vacuum advance on the distributer?.

Just had a quick look and i can't see a vacuum on the distributor, and in the haynes manual it quotes a inductive discharge, breakless distributor,mechanical advance for 105tc up to 1983.

what about points in the distributor?

I can't but help think that your 105TC is supposed to have a Digiplex unit.

Hanes manuals are generally not that bad. I have the one for the Strada 105TC with 130TC supplement and it seems to confirm the Digiplex ignition unit.

Just been in touch with the last owner who had the car for the last 17 years and has imformed me that it's doesn't have the digiplex unit.

Fiat only ever fitted the digiplex system to the series 2 stradas . The MK1 105 TC had the magnet marelli system off the fiat 131 sport . The fiat 131 sport was fitted with either a bosch or magnet marelli system . My 131 sport has the magnet marelli system and i should be abale to take a picture of the system at the weekend . Any 12 volt coil will do . I have have the genuine Fiat 105tc mk 1 manual . Is this the car that was for sale in shrewbury a few months ago as i was after it .

If your right that i can use any 12v coil that would be great,as i seen some new one's cheap,do you know what the difference is anyway,and yes it is the strada from shrewsbury.

Mark 1 Stradas are rare cars particularly the 105. Would love to see this car restored. I looked at buying it too but decided i have enough projects already

Hi been looking for 105 mk1 for more than 16 months.(it was my first car)then this one came up and bought it, needs alot of work but i'm getting there slowly, when i finish it lol will show pictures,plus i'm taking pictures as i go. i wonder how many are left,would love to hear of anyone else who's got one.
