Hello.

Got a problem on my Fiat Strada. There is clairly something i have done wrong. But hope you can help me.

The problem is: When I turn the ignition key on (when im about to start the engine) the radio is not turning on. The same when i have started the engine the radio is still not turning on.

I have tryed to see in the user manual to the radio, but cant find anything in it that solves my problem.

I know my English is the best, but i hope you understands my problem and hopfully know how to fix it.

Hope for a soon answer.

Mario

I think you are saying you have a modern Fiat Strada made in 2005. (common in South America region). If this is your car then please ignore the information below which is for the earlier Strada models. (up to year 2000)

For MkII Stradas up to year 2000 then:

The radio power feed is the same as for the car clock and cigarette lighter. These come direct from the battery, to the fuse box, Fuse No12 and then straight to the units. NOTE! The ignition switch is not in the circuit.

Check if you cigarette lighter works. If not then check Fuse 12 in the fuse box.

If these are ok then you will have to pull the radio out and check if there is power on the connector. You should also check that there is a good earth connection at the socket.

If power is available then it is probably your radio that has failed.

Its from 2005 yes. I dont know if i posted this thread right, and im sorry if thats a fackt.

I can turn on the radio manually, but i want it to start hen i start the engine. The problem started after i was doing somthing with the radio, but cant remember exactly what i did. Itr worked when i bought the car..

The Stada Pick-Up is a member of the WCP 178 family ( World car Project 178) which contains the Palio, Siena etc. it has nothing in common with the Ritmo/Strada from the early years.
So maybe post it in the "Palio" section on this Forum, or even better: in the "General Tech Section", for more response.

Yes I'm aware of this. As I carefully pointed out in my original reply I queried was it a late Strada 05. Could have been a typo with 65CL and 75 models being possible candidates :)

I had the early Strada info to hand so posited it anyway for other people with the earlier cars who may benefit from the info.
