External temperature sensor not working

Good afternoon to all

Recently i have a strange problem started in my car

The external temperature sensor went crazy
And actually does not work.
Once shows me minus one once shows me 70 degrees.

Where can I buy this part?

Re: External temperature sensor not working

Hi, Guess yours is the same place as mine, its located inside the (here in the UK) Drivers Door Mirror Housing, that the right side of the car looking from the rear. Yours could be different...........Ebay have the sensors on at times. Cheers Qube O.

Re: External temperature sensor not working

Hi, does anyone have a proper video link tutorial on how to remove the mirror without breaking it? I have the same issue with faulty readings from the temperature sensor. It's reading 3C when its actually closer to 30C.

Re: External temperature sensor not working

Good day,
Can anyone please tell me what the resistance of the thermistor for the ambient temperature sensor is? I have ordered one from aliexpress but it is the wrong resistance as it doesn't read 3C anymore, but 50C.

Re: External temperature sensor not working

can I ask how much you paid for this on aliexpress ? I think that a brand new sensor from the dealer will cost you a few pounds only and will work without any problems

Does the dealer sell just the sensor?

I doubt it afik at least on all other Fiat's it's only available with the mirror and not a separate part

Re: External temperature sensor not working

Yeah I bought it for something like 2.50 (roughly R50 South African Rands). I went this route as the dealers only sell the whole mirror unit which then costs almost R2000.
It is a very basic electrical component, if I can just figure out what resistance the original one is supposed to be, I can get it at a local electronic supply store for next to nothing - they cost like R10 a shot.
