Hi i am new here - so hello all, I bought an 11 plate qubo 1.3 multi jet ,diesel -it had done 43,000 miles in feb 2020 1000 miles on, and it started a noise like a faint typewriter on tick over , now it is very loud and also smokes , (burning oil smell ) under the bonnet around intake box - i understand that the timing chain needs replacing - but is it normal to smoke??? or could it have cam shaft , problems ??? starts first time /no warning lights - i have a problem as i am disabled / no garages at the moment + i dont think a good idea to drive - dont want to cause anymore damage any thoughts regards Dave

Is it performing regenerations of the exhaust DPF without issue ?

What is the oil level like ..?

Gone up or down..??

If the timing chain breaks, repairs get very expensive. Stop driving it now, and replace the chain.
Search for threads on this, most will contain stories of pain and disappointment. You can avoid some of your own by acting quickly.
