Are you leaving the lights on so it is on night time dim?

Hi The illumination and dimming function with headlights on at night is not affected???

I leave my sidelights on permanently so that I have dash illumination. I've done this since my Fiorino and on 4 Qubos since so that the dash is (more) visible. Lights go off when I turn off to leave and no warning bleep. No dimming when (at night) I put the dipped lights on.

Wish there was an easy way to find a lead for dash lights to make it default 'on'.. A Haynes Manual would make these things easier to locate :idea:

I clearly have to pay more attention to this! Never noticed poor visibility of the dash at day time, will have a look later...

So it is that the dash lights come on only with the lights. Have mine set quite dim, actually like the simple orange backlights and consider some of the other more vibrant designs a minor reason not to buy, when met them in the past. Sorry this is no help for our OP.

No, it appears not, R. V. M. is correct. The illumination needs the lights on. The brightness is adjusted using the up down arrows and menu control at your knee.

This I did not know!

I've always thought how pointless a rheostat was on the dash to control the dash light brightness and thought Fiat had eventually done away with it. I now hope my level is 'low' now I can tinker with it to make it brighter. The dials are dark even in daylight which is why I leave the sidelights on permanently. They go on and off with the ignition (as do the headlights) which I think is quite smart so even if you forget to go up to dipped lights after dark there will be something on.
