Hi. I'm wondering if anyone on this here forum has kept a Qubo out of doors from new - and if so, how long it was before any paint-lifting or outright rusting occurred. It seems to be around 8 years on a Skoda - and Fiats are popularly believed to be a sight more rust-inclined than Skodas, but then again, people talk cobblers, don't they? So in other words, there's no substitute for one's own experience.

Has anyone here left a Qubo sitting out in the pouring rain for years on end? If so, what happened? Thanks.

Hello

so far, my Qubo is 8 and a half years old and always outdoor :
no rust at all...
but paint would need à polish.

And it's never lived in a garage in its life?

That's very encouraging indeed.

Hi Uncle Bert, Mines a 2009, never had a garage to put it in, no rust, no paint damage, washes/polishes up a treat. Would only advise, that I keep a blast of maintenance spray on all of the sliding door runners, top & bottom, as they have been know to rust. Cheers Qube O.
As a unrelated Qubo add on, fella round the corner has a 2007/8 Panda, has a real gouge out on a wing, down to the metal, been like it years, never attended to, and no worse now than it was 5/6 years ago...…….

Hi.
Very few cars rust visibly nowadays :)

Poor quality accident repairs are prime culprit.

Historically the undersides o. Cars can rot.. due to the factory underseal cracking after around 10 years.. letting moisture to enter the layers .. can sit there undistubed in cold and damp climates.

For reference .. our Polish built panda is now 14 years in our family..

One rear wing scrape at 4 years old.. still no rust.

Rear suspension can weaken through trapped water ..
SB1500 has experienced SOME underbonnet panda corrosion.
