Good afternoon (it is 16:00 where I am) I am preparing to go home form work soon and just wanted to pop in and say hello.
I am a new member, because I had to buy a Fiat - a Fiat Qubo Switch (Drive from wheelchair) and for the first time ever ii my life I bought a car in another country over the phone - without seeing it or really knowing it's condition, except for the pictures and other information on e bay.
Such DFW vehicles are not readily available in South Africa, so I had to import one form the UK. (What an exercise!!!) The car was loaded on a vessel in Southampton on 13 October and arrived in Durban on 4 November. It is still being offloaded and must still clear customs - and because it is not roadworthy in South Africa until I can manage to have it registered here, I could not drive it to my hometown or get insurance for it, So now it will go on a vehicle carrier and hopefully I will have it by Friday 9 November.
i will probably have a lot of questions about the car once it is in my garage, hence the reason for me joining the forum.
