95 trekking front coil spring part number?

Hi

I put my registration into eurocarpats expecting to get the right coil springs for my 95 Trekking and it came up with Sachs 627586370 so I brought them as they were 45 cheaper than Fiat but no as cheap as some of the others you can get so I figured should be safe. Now I have the car in bits I have just found these new springs are shorter and a different shape! Does anyone know what the correct part number is please?

My first port of call would be to speak to Euro car parts as they have supplied the incorrect parts. As your vehicle is in bits they should also deliver the correct springs to you free of charge.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Re: 95 trekking front coil spring part number?

Thanks for the reply, I gave them a call and they were very helpful. Their system only shows one spring for all models which seems a bit odd but they said I could fit them and give them a try and if they are not right they will still accept them for a full refund! I'm still off the road though as I have found my top bearings have also gone so need new ones of them too.

Top tips so far: Get a windscreen wiper puller (I made one) as they would not budge. Soak the top nut for at least a day in WD40 as it would not move and I thought the 6mm hex key was going to snap it took so much force. Watch out for the drive shaft coming out when removing the strut. If you are only jacking one side at a time the anti roll bar puts force on the link that goes to the back of the strut so I lowered the car on to a sutably sized block of wood on the joint just behind the brake disk to level it out so I could extract the linkage.

Quick update, spring fitted and new top bearing, must have been the fault from the start as it now steers and takes bumps without making a noise, lovely! Only problem is now I can notice te rear suspension creaking.

Did you really only fit one spring? Surely since the other has done N,000 miles it's not as good as a new one on the other side? I had a broken one and replaced a pair.

I'm starting the other one Sunday, I don't get much time so I can only do a bit at a time. The first one took six days because I have too much on and can only spare a few minutes at a time.
