Hi Qubonistas and Fioristas

My next challenge with our Qubo is to master the On Board Diagnostics (OBD). I thought I'd post my attempts to master the challenge.

I've seen from other posts that when you do an oil change, some sort of service setting needs to be reset. So I need to figure this out.

1. Get an OBD2 interface
I've got myself some ODB2 to USB2 interfaces (ELM and KKL) and KKL adapter cables. There are several sources of these (I chose iDiagnostics).

2. Find your OBD socket
Next I need to find the ODB2 socket. In many cars it is somewhere below the dash near the drivers door or next to the bonnet release. Not in the Qubo

A bit of searching found this handy web site:
http://www.wikiobd.co.uk/vehicle.php?vh=1842

The OBD socket is hidden behind the dash panel below the steering wheel.
It is held in place by: two plastic headed machine screws; two plastic popper things on the right hand side; and three plastic hooks along the bottom of the panel.
Remove the screws and pull the top of the panel out to release the poppers. Then unhook the panel from along the bottom of the dash.

If only I had typed into my search engine of choice: "Where is the Fiat Qubo and Punto EOBD OBD II" I would have found this:

So no need for a screwdriver - just use the end of the key to undo the plastic headed screws. I probably should have looked in the manual too. ;)

3. Load ELM drivers onto laptop
.... I'll have to post this update later.....

Hi,
Drivers should install automatically. Next step is to install the free version of Multiecuscan www.multiecuscan.net and try out the basic functions.

The service reset you needdepends on the engine fitted in your car. If you have a diesel with DPF there is an additional step required to tell the engine ECU that the oil has been changed (oil degradation reset).

Thanks G8RPI
I have drivers and the free version of multiecuscan working.
I ran some basic scans and just need to get the hang of the software.
It is a little more specialised than the free software that I've used before on other vehicles.
