I know that Qubos have a problem with warning lights displaying for no reason, so I've borne it in mind whilst searching for a decent used one (which I've not found yet). It seems that the more Qubo-specific questions you ask a seller, the less likely they are to respond to your email at all, like they realise they've already been found out before you've even laid eyes on their car, so you're of no use to them as a buyer because you know too much. Mention top-struts or warning lights and suddenly they don't want to know you. If the photos in their advert show the dashboard unlit and you ask the seller to post a photo of the instrument cluster taken with the engine running, they'll ignore you. Sometimes they even photograph the dashboard with the steering wheel positioned in a way that hides the warning lights.

But what I wanted to ask now is this: Are the warning light problems caused by faulty sensors or by a faulty display? That's to say, if you experience warning light issues, can they be solved by sending your instrument cluster away to some outfit like Autotronics for repair? Or is there nowt wrong with the display, only with the sensors? And can auto electrics specialists fix the sensors even when Fiat garages are clueless how to do it?

Thanks for any info you can feed I.

I’m with Qube O, top struts yes, but display ok, no false alarm warning lights apart from real ones ( engine management light due to DPF Fault

Well, if that's representative of the majority of Qubo-owners' experiences, then it's a big relief. Thanks for setting my mind at rest.

I've read a lot of negative Owner Reviews of the Qubo, Bipper Tepee and Nemo Multispace in which the phenomenon of permanently-displayed warning lights featured again and again - but from what you say (and from the general lack of responses to this thread), it appears that the issue isn't quite as widespread as I'd feared. Definitely a thing to watch out for when test-driving a car though, especially if it's already had several owners.

Hi. My qubo has the orange engine light intermittently light up when accelerating briskly at 2500+ rpm then enters limp mode. When parked up for several hours the engine light doesn't come on and is full power again until accelerating briskly.
Might it be the turbo or the intake bleeding air causing the warning light to kick in.
Thanks for reading this post. IanT
