Hi all. Had a very close shave when overtaking a lorry a short while ago.
When overtaking 99 times out of a 100 I put the gear box into manual from auto. This time for some reason I left it in auto. I was in 4th gear (I think) and as I got level with the lorry, my car changed up a gear and slowed noticeably. By this time there was another car coming towards me. I floored the accelerator dropping a couple of gears and shot in front of the lorry.The car coming towards me must have had to brake. Scared me.
I know it's said that a bad workman will blame his tools, but in this case, if the car had remained in the lower gear, the overtake would have been made safely and in plenty of time.

I've enjoyed my time with the forum and hope I have made some contribution to the threads/debates. It really is the best forum. Regards to all and sundry ArthurM.

hi arthur m sorry you are going you and the rest have been a great help so 2 quobo 's down on fourm ill be moving down to 2012 pandas collected it yester day and will not need any more diesel additve all the very best

hi qubo YES you will pleased to no mowermender 70 has sold his quobo61 plate and bought no 19 fiat 2014 panda lounge in bright red the boss could not get the hang of the auto this one is petrol so no diesel additve needed regards mowermender70
