I fitted a set of Michelin Cross Climate tyres 8 weeks ago in preparation for a severe winter! They are very grippy, especially in the wet but the down side is my economy has dropped from 50.6 mpg to 46.2 mpg :( (mostly around town at ave 20 mph) and steering is a bit heavier at low speeds.

The original Bridgestones covered 17500 miles in 2 1/2 years and the replacement Avons did the same. Both sets wore the inside of front tyres down to 2mm with 4mm on the outside.

I've just had 4 wheel laser tracking done with minor adjustments so I'll monitor wear and economy and report back in the spring.

I had a set of 4 put on my Focus MK3 - didn't notice an economy issue myself, but I always expect economy to drop around 5 or so mpg in the winter with winter diesel and extra electrical items being used.

I did notice at first 'movement' as they felt a bit looser however I think they have bedded in now.

Apart from that I'm more than happy with them.

I have tested them in mud as I couldn't wait for snow!! They seemed to cope well.

got the same I fitted 4 all season tyres on my trekking and my mpg went down

Well I've done 2600 miles on the new Michelin Cross Climate tyres and the tracking adjustments seem to have done the trick ;). Tyres are wearing more evenly, although inner and outer edges are wearing slightly more than the centre on both front and back. I've increased pressure to full load values to see if that evens out the wear and I usually swap front to back at about 8000 miles.

The print out from the 4 wheel laser Supertracker confirmed the wear pattern before adjustment and well worth the £42! (y)

Economy is back to just under 50 mpg at ave 21 mph and steering is lighter now tyres have bedded in.
