Any ideas? In my Trekking manual it explains cigar lighter/power socket and whereabouts', namely centre console and boot. Alas there ain't one in the boot. Main fuse box in engine compartment shows 2 fused connections and also 1 in the internal fuse box. Anyone know if the wiring does exist in the boot for a socket to be installed? Don't really feel like ripping up the floor to run cable. Had enough trouble on my past Pandy when fitting a towbar. Shame there's no workshop manual or electric diagram to be had.

Hi adeverett,

Only got the one in my Qubo, set between the front seats. One in the rear would be very handy for things like 'cool boxes'. Have checked in my handbook and only have the one listed.........perhaps like so many things its a 'optional extra' to be ordered when specing the car ??

Cheers Qube O.

I fitted one in the ''boot area'' of my fiorino van on the left hand storage panel.
The wiring to the the battery was a doddle........no running under floor.
1.remove storage panel
2.remove plastic tread plates for sliding door and passenger door
3.Remove passenger footwell plastic panel
4.Run heavy duty cable to the passenger footwell to a rubber grommet make a hole in grommet for cable and pass through to another grommet on the outside behind door hinge....do the same to this.
5.run cable between inner and outer wing to engine compartment and then to battery.
I ran all external cable in flexible trunking to battery and fixed terminals for battery cable with in line fuse with 20 amp fuse.
I use mine for mains inverter for charging power tools on site. kettle [got to have my tea] and various other stuff, but all the same very handy to have.

Yep, thanks for that Luigi. I did a similar thing on my Panda for towbar electrics. Not sure though how different the Trekking is to the Van. No storage panel and I'm baffled on how to remove the rear panels. Can only see 2 screws holding it in and when loosened there appears no movement. Will try again.

When looking for trouble one day... I removed the caddy tray on the pax side and there was nothing in the cavity there. On the driver's side there's a blanking plate where the caddy tray would go on the LHD vans would go (assuming they put one on the other side?) and in there is a loom to the rear lights/wiper/hrw etc. There's one heavy duty connector which must be the rear power socket and two other much lighter connectors.

See here for the photos of what you'll find in there :)

If the wiring is there then maybe to enable the socket (after buying one and fitting it of course) you might only need to put in the fuse if it's not in place already.
