Technical Fuse/relay box in engine bay

Straight answer - with great difficulty and grazed knuckles. There are no hidden fixing or anything but you need to deform the casing to wriggle it out. I'm an aircraft engineer by trade and I'd say this is a pig of a design.

I opened mine looking for the cigar lighter fuse - then discovered the - OTHER - fuse box inside the car. If you have a handbook it lays out all the fuse locations quite clearly.

i'm fitting a genuine fiat alarm, and i have to make a couple of connections to it, after a few words and like you say hands like i've been set upon by litter of kittens i gave up---then it started to rain,shut the bonnet and went in doors!
i'm gonna try again soon after your advise-----------thanks.

Had same problem blew fuse with tyre pump, found fuse for cigar lighter in manual after skinning knuckles getting underbonnet fuse cover off.. 30amp fuse under bonnet 15amp mini fuse in car , in series I presume..
