Hi all,
I have found this web when I looked for the information befor buying my Qubo 1,4 8V.
Now I have 12000 km (sorry for metric values, I am from Czech republic:)) and only thing which makes me worry is the consumption - 8,5 liters/100km seems me a lot when compare it with declared 6,8 on the paper.
Is there anybody who has the same engine and wants to share his experiences with it?

Thanks a have a good trips,

Honza

Mine has 1000km and is averaging 9.2L/100km mixed driving. Obviously depends a lot on how fast you drive, I've been driving fairly normally though not exceeding about 3500 rpm and 120 km/hr. You would have to drive very slowly to achieve anything like the quoted figures I think!

If this equates to 33mpg (?) I wouldn't worry - the diesel is similarly far away from the official figures - as are most cars.

On a road test in the UK the new FIAT 500 twin air reached only just more than 50% the official consumption!

Thank you for quick reply(y). I am really not race driver but think that my limits are the same as you write (on the highways only exceptionally over 120km/h).
In the beginning was my consumption about 9l/100 km as well, now it is lower. My 8,5 is average for last 5 months, in the city it is about 9-9,5, when driving long distance it is about 7-7,5 (according to computer).

Thanks again.

Yes, after long calculation I get the same figure - 33 mpg 8o)
I am surprised only since with my previous car (Punto 1,2) I was 0,5 l over the official data only. Thanks for your reply.

Hi, thanks for note. Both of you are really good drivers. I cant get over 35 mpg overall. Only when I drive long distance it is possible to reach 38 mpg, in the city 31-33.

Hi there, got about 2500 miles on the Qubo now and I average about 34 MPG,but driving from my fathers house to my home,I was doing a constant 38 MPH which returned me a fabulous 42 MPG!. I could not believe it,the engine is starting to be more responsive and MPG is increasing....good news(y)

I cant talk about the petrol guys as we have the M/jet, but we are just back of hals, *1100 miles and used 16.6 gals *66.2mpg.
Car had a full load going down and coming home, and was at a steady 70mph on M/ways.

One thing I did notice was there was a 10mpg differance between computer, and working it out with pen and paper.

The cars average (since we got it ) is 56.1mpg.

Ok the car aint reaching the figures stated by Fiat, but they dont seem to be a kick in the ass of them. Nope i'm quite happy with out Qubo's mpg.

cheers Ian

Just short update after holiday season:
long distance, mainly on highway, loaded with whole family - 40 MPG (y)
city or short trips on hilly roads - 32-33 MG (n)

I am satisfied with my QUBO :D

Hi Most Easterly Panda's, I happen you are correct in most respects Re petrol v diesel. But if the owner buys a new diesel with the intention of running it for 10-12 years, which I hope to, then I would suspect at the very least the figures would even out, or possibly the diesel would come out on top.
Also, the servicing, every two years, on a diesel should, I understand, work out less that a petrol. Though I will stand correction on the latter.......

Take care, Qube O.

With the fiat qubo the petrol version is very thirsty the diesel versions are very good mpg and the resale on diesel versions be higher easy to resell just are better all round .. the diesel versions are alway going to be best all round its the good mpg size of the qubo all makes it such a good M.P.V .. dont bother with the fiat qubo petrol version low mpg .. always go for the diesel mjet 75bhp or 95bhp dual logic gearbox has six gears the sixth gear is a long gear ratio so engine runs slower so higher mpg

I frequently get between 38 and 41 mpg out of my 1.4 petrol. Quite happy with that. The more miles I put on the engine the more it is loosening up and it even feels a bit more flexible.

I am thinking of seeing if I can get it chipped however as the lack of midrange tends to dent the fuel consumption on long steep hills. It would be nice to tackle some of them without having to slowly work my way down the gearbox!

Well, so far in 300 miles I am getting 38. This is 179 miles of motorway and rest is very rural up and down hills. Engine is 8500 miles old so is properly loosened up. Tyres are all at 32 (I don't know if this is what they should be but I checked today so I can compare with the handbook later.

Long term, where I live I expect it will be about 34MPG my B trip average which I set after I got the car home and filled the tank to the top is currently 34.8 after about 80 miles. My driving will be 99.9% rural, running short trips of 3 to 16 miles up some big hills. Often with 2 big dogs in the back and a thin missis in the passenger seat.

I will take the rear seats out after a full tank and repeat to see how this changes things.

Im relying on the trip computer here, no pen and paper calcs as per the post above.

Hi ontor,

Just to compare, my Qubo is a 1.3 MJD with the Duralogic box, done 20000 miles. Most of my motoring is mixed, with lots of little runs of a couple of mile. When I topped up the tank yesterday, my mpg is 62.9..............

Guess thats the advantage of the Diesel, and the Duralogic box.

Cheers Qube O.

Dualogic, not Duralogic :p
